On ff. 4a-6b, 8a-37b a collection of Qazaq proverbs written down in Srinagar, Kashmir in July 1952 by one of the Qazaq refugees who arrived there, coming down over the Himalaya mountains from Kashmir. His name is given by himself in his own transcription on f. 37b as Sherizet s/o Sabadil -with another Qazaq name added, viz. Qasin s/o Qoli Beg. On f. 3a his name is to be found as the owner of the book. Cf. Prov. 487.

Origin
Written down in Srinagar, Kashmir in July 1952 by one of the Qazaq refugees who arrived there, coming down over the Himalaya mountains from Kashmir. His name is given by himself in his own transcription on f. 37b as Sherizet s/o Sabadil.
Provenance
The name of the owner on f. 3a: Qasin s/o Qoli Beg. Acquired by Rev. Sigfrid Moen in Kashmir and later presented by him to Gunnar Jarring.
Acquisition
The ms. was part of the Jarring collection of Eastern Turkistan manuscripts donated to the Lund University Library in 1982.
