A partial copy of Tarihikh-i-amniyya. Ff. 4a-128a The history of Yaqub Bek Ataliq Ghazi. The title on f. 4a, i.e. Muhammad Yaqub Bek from a township called Piskent became in the year 1265/1848-1849 judge in the town of Aq Mesdjid, and later held the post of qusbegi. In the year of 1281/1864 he came to Kashghar and was king there for fourteen years. The author cannot be established with certainty. On f. 89a there is a note which could indicate authorship. On f. 128a the note which occurs on f. 89a is expressed in a way which would indicate collective authorship. On f. 129a different prescriptions for various diseases. Cf. Origin
The name of the copyist and the date is to be found on f. 128a, viz. 1332/1913-1914, on the 1st of the month of Rajab, the revered, a Sunday; the writer is Talib akhon, son of Mulla Nimet akhond (cf. Prov. 117).
Provenance
Acquired by Gustaf Ahlbert in Kashghar, in the 1930's; later on presented to Gunnar Jarring.
Acquisition
The ms. was part of the Jarring collection of Eastern Turkistan manuscripts donated to the Lund University Library in 1982.
