Shahr-i Gulshan. Eastern Turkistan, 18th century, late (?), Uighur, Arabic, Persian
Old number 168. A didactic religious treatise, being no doubt a translation into Eastern Turki of a Persian original. It is divided into 22 chapters of which an index is to be found on f. 3b-4a. The title is repeatedly given on f. 3b and with Raquette's handwriting on f. 1a Sahar i Gulsan, written with lead pencil. Between ff. 25 and 26 a leaf with Arabic text inserted; between ff. 164 and 165 a leaf inserted containing some fragments of Persian poetry. The last page is missing. Cf. Prov. 62 and 107:3; Zetterstéen 597:7.

No date indicated, it probably was to be found on the missing last page. The condition of the manuscript and the script points to late 18th century.
Provenance
The ms. once belonged to Gustaf Raquette who acquired it in Kashghar or Yarkand in the early part of the 20th century.
Acquisition
Presented by Gustaf Raquette's widow, Mrs Hanna Raquette to the Lund University Library in the 1960's.
